♧: Your muse moved away a while ago, and surprises mine by showing up at their door (from Killian)

Everything looked completely the same yet entirely different from the landscape she'd grown accustomed to over several decades. Perhaps the largest differences were the world was considerably more *blue.* Several times it made her wonder if she was even in the right area, losing her bearings every now and again as her mind tried to compare russet memories with a cooler reality.
It wasn't hard to find the house. After all, she had died for the second time after entering the basement of a house very similar, with similar bushes and trees and neighboring houses. She stared at the front door for a while before turning back and looking at the yellow car on the street. According to the sun, and the oddly shaped clock in her pocket, the lady of the house would be leaving shortly. And due to her snooping, she knew that it was a day the lady's husband did not work with her.
She found a wide tree to tuck herself behind to wait, using the time to prepare herself. A thought she'd had over the years that made it a fraction easier was the idea that he had to have been less than she remembered. That surely her mind had exaggerated everything through the centuries. That was a thought she clung to now.
She didn't stand there for long before she heard the door open. Her body tensed and she didn't even dare to breathe. She glanced around the tree and saw only her get into the car and drive off, and she kept her breath held until she no longer heard the loud, rattly engine. Her heart pounded loudly in her chest as she made her way back to the front door. Her nerves were playing as though she were about to do something illicit when really, she thought he ought to know before anyone else not only that she was here, but why.
She raised her hand to knock but noticed the doorbell instead. Curiously, she reached out and pressed it, body tense until she heard the 'ding-dong.' Eyebrow arching, she pressed it again to see if she'd heard right. Then again because she decided she rather liked that sound compared to the loud, dying squeel that accompanied the bell in the Underworld.
Then again and again and again and again.
